After my frantic google search in the interview phase, i thought i would share my story! The whole interview is certainly is an eye opener. I applied online!, took over a week to get back to me, received an email inviting me to an asda magic event! Was absolutely nervous! Whatever you do, dont show your nerves!, surpress em, act confident and happy. Basically we played people bingo which is their way of seeing how you act with total strangers, lots of smiles and polite conversation and you'll be well off, there will be people watching you!, second was a team challenge, again to see how you work with others, ours was building a tower out of paper and sellotape, get involved as much as you can, chat lots, smile, and don't be too loud..but loud enough to get noticed..And dont whatever you do, sit and let everyone else do all the work!!, whoever got the highest tower and got it to stay up the longest won! We didn't win unfortunately but it was a great laugh!, we then had a tour around the store, and "have a go"..For us it was ordering the shelves and pulling the existing stock forward so customers can reach it, I then had a phone call 5 hours later inviting me back for my one to one interview..There was some pretty tricky questions..Also forgot to mention make sure you take your I.D to the Asda magic event! Otherwise you'll just get turned away!, the questions were really about common sense and what you would do in those situations! But the rest of the time it was a pretty informal chat, again lots of smiles and eye contact!
I got a call back two days later offering me the position, on a permanent basis as it was seasonal work but i think they stopped doing that now, so they offered me more permanent hours. Im currently on 12 weeks probation in my new job, and everyone is super friendly.
