The Amazon interview process is a rigorous and multi-faceted evaluation designed to identify top talent. It typically begins with an initial phone screen or online assessment that focuses on basic qualifications, technical skills, and alignment with Amazon's leadership principles. Successful candidates then progress to one or more phone interviews, often with team members or hiring managers, where they delve deeper into technical abilities, problem-solving skills, and experience. The final stage is an onsite interview, which may include multiple back-to-back interviews with a mix of behavioral and technical questions, as well as case studies or coding exercises, depending on the role. Throughout the process, Amazon emphasizes its leadership principles, expecting candidates to demonstrate how they embody these values through past experiences and their approach to challenges. Feedback from each interview round is collectively reviewed before a hiring decision is made.

Interview
Audacious process from beginning to the end. They ask you to complete two written assessments 1+ hour each, then have interviews with 4 people where 90% of interviewers never worked anywhere else other than Amazon in their lives. They ask prompted questions which they never follow up on. You answer everything in STAR format, keep hearing excellent, ask whether all answers are clear, then an hour later they try to offer you a downgraded role. Interviewers are as audacious as telling you are going to work 13 hours a day, which is probably not even legal. Stay away unless you are dying.
