I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Opa-locka, FL)
Interview
First there is a telephone interview involving questions on your experiences at each employer as well as a math test focused on productivity mgt. that is timed while on the phone. If you pass the phone interview you are invited to the fulfillment center. There is a facility tour and then you will once again take another math focused productivity test that is timed. After the test you will interview with 4 different Amazon employees. The interview process was pretty efficient. However after touring the facility & hearing the amount of hours/days they expect you to work I withdrew. The technology in the operation is very impressive, the hours arent. Non-peak is OK at 4 days weekly 12 hours per day. During peak they expect 6 days weekly at 12+ hours daily, logging into their system on your day off to see the next day's volume. Its a meat grinder. Also when the facility is at full load with 3000 or so employees & all the conveyors running, its like trying to talk while a train is going by.

Question 1
"Speak about how you improved productivity at x Inc."
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Oct 2019
Interview
Had a very unethical and unpleasant experience with AWS.
Process took about 2 weeks. A recruiter called me and took down my basic details and profile. He was patient and was well versed. Next day I got the confirmation for the interview schedule.
Interview was supposedly a video round on chime however interviewer decided to take it telephonic. I myself have been taking interviews in my organisation and have realised that your approach to evaluating a person should be.
- Start with what he has done, how well he has done that.
- Next move to the requirement of the role and evaluate him on how well he fits in that.
- During the course of discussion evaluate interpersonal skills and his/her attitude.
However this was not at all the case in this interview. Interviewer jumped directly on random questions which were more fit for a solutions kind of profile and not for a Support kind of profile.
During the interview there were multiple instances of silence on the call and then me interrupting that silence asking the interviewer if he was waiting on me. That implies he either did not have 100% attention or was busy with something else as well. Also, this implies he wanted to keep it more transactional than discussion.
Post the discussion, recruiters did not inform me, and I checked the portal and my candidature has been moved to "No more in consideration"
