I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Chicago, IL)
Interview
It starts with a screening from a Recruiter, followed by a phone screening from someone from the Team. If you’ve passed the phone screening you move into the final interview which is back to back interviews over 5-6 hours. Through the process you work with your Recruiter and are highly encouraged to be prepared by studying the STAR method.

Technical questions
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon in Feb 2022
Interview
I was initially contacted by a recruiter, did an online assessment, had a 45 minute phone interview with 2 team members, and the final step in the process is a loop interview with 5 team members (each lasting about an hour long). I was asked about 3 questions in the phone screen and 3-5 per person during the loop interview. The loop interview was very repetitive in terms of process. Small talk, they tell you what to expect, they tell you about themselves, you tell them about yourself, they ask the structured questions and probing follow up questions and finally you get the last few minutes to ask them questions. You do this over and over again with every interviewer. Their interview process is long and draining.
If you want a shot at getting an offer, you will have to invest a good chunk of time in preparation. My suggestions would be to answer all questions in STAR format, have a list of past experiences prepared which include metrics that demonstrate scope and impact. Be prepared for them to ask probing questions after your responses. Have an idea of which LPs might be most important to the role and team you're interviewing for. If you really want the job, it might be worthwhile to invest in one of those interview prep courses.
