I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2019
Interview
Smooth and efficient end to end. The recruiter worked with me to find the right role for me. The 2-5 promise was held and things went smoothly. From the start to teh end it took a total of 2 months.
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Jun 2021
Interview
Interview process was in 3 steps, initial interview with recruiter, then hiring manager, then panel of 5 interviewers and 5 interviews. (not counting the writing assessment or aptitude assessment)
First two steps are quite straight forward, description of personnel profile and job requirements.
With the hiring manager, questions will be based on Amazon principle (1 in my case).
The final step is more challenging.
All 5 interviewers are going to discuss one leadership principle. In my case, all were focused on one or two principles.
It is good to be prepared, and have different examples (STAR).
For the bar raiser, be prepared to dive deep into the example.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
based on leadership principle of Amazon -
Tell me a time you improved a process that didn't need improving (bar raiser)
Tell me of your best accomplishment
Tell me what you are most proud about
Tell me of a situation you had to solve a complex problem without all information
Tell me about an innovation that you made

I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Hyderabad) in Aug 2021
Interview
It was very nice. The interviewer was from Ireland Amazon. She was patient and great to chat with. She asked mostly previous experience and SQL questions. I was able to finish the interview in 45 minutes and got my offer the next day
