Question 1
What projects, experiences, and coursework are related to this role?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Express in Jul 2024
Interview
The hiring manager for the role sent me an email proposing two times for an initial call, which was a panel interview. There was no call with a recruiter or the hiring manager.
I selected a time and was then asked to complete two case studies to present to the panel. I completed and submitted both.
When the panel interview began, the interviewers were not aware of the case studies and instead had a list of questions that they were instructed to ask me. The conversation lasted 30 minutes.
I was then emailed by the hiring manager and informed that they had made an offer to another candidate.

Interview
Applied through company site.
Position posted in Phoenix, AZ, New York, & Florida - did not give cities for NY & FL.
Initial HR screening - 30 min.
During HR call I told them I was located more than 3 hours from the FL office & could not do hybrid. If they would consider me remote I'd like to move forward.
Advanced to 2nd round with hiring managers - 30 min.
Reminded them again I cannot do hybrid.
Advanced to final interview with Director - 30 min.
During that call the Director mentioned they noticed I was 4 hours away & asked if I would be able to do hybrid.
I informed them I've mentioned it several times to multiple people and stated they are negotiating internally remote/hybrid work schedules.
After final interview, I sent a follow-up next day & was told I got the position.
I asked if it would be remote. HR had taken a week to get back to me & said no they can no longer hire remote.
Wasted everybody's time
