I applied online. I interviewed at British Airways (London, England) in Aug 2017
Interview
I arrived approx 40 mins before the interview and there was already a few people there. I know it's easiser said than done but please please do not be nervous or panic. The day is really fun and everyone is so lovely! I really worked myself up and when it came to the day it was a really pleasant experience.
Basically the day is as everyone has previously described it. We sat around until about 9.45/10 then began our role plays/group tasks. Just act as if the assessor a real customer and how you would handle the situation in real life. They do not expect you to know BA's policies, in my role play I read out the wrong in-flight menu but corrected myself and I was still put through. In the group task I would say put across ideas, use 'we' and think 'team'. Definitely address people by using their name 'I really like your idea Amy' 'what do you guys think of this' - BA pride themselves on being innovative so think unique and customer focused.
I got through to the interview stage where my nerves just completely took over. Just be yourself, I really planned my answers and I think it came across scripted. One thing the lady did express in the presentation is that they know a lot of the questions etc are available to read online so I think they're trying to mix it up. I had two ladies for my interview, they both worked for the recruitment team and one was like head of recruitment & they had both clearly worked there for years, so I do think I got a bit unlucky in that sense as they clearly knew what they were looking for and I really felt the pressure. She tried tripping me up on a few questions and a lot of the questions I was asked stemmed from my answers to previous questions so I was personally very taken back and was not expecting some of the questions. I'd say just be yourself and don't overthink it. Definitely plan your answers as they like to ask a lot of scenario questions so make sure you have some ideas in your head.
Also, when I was applying I was trying to read about what people were wearing. I was worried about wearing heels but everyone was dressed in business attire and the girls wore heels.
