The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capital One in Mar 2011
Interview
No first round phone interview. Applied through my school's career services page. Was prompted to take a math/verbal standardized test. After passing the test, was scheduled to travel to interview onsite. At the interview site, interviews consisted of a behavioral interview with a director as well as two case interviews. One interview was about maximizing the profit of a ferry company. The second dealt with an employee verification program and involved a break-even analysis.
Overall, interviewers were personable and friendly. Emphasis seemed to be on quantitative analytical capabilities. Very straight forward.

Question 1
How to maximize the profit of a ferry boat company?
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Plano, TX) in Mar 2011
Interview
I got contacted by a human resources representative of Capital One, a recruiter for our campus. They already had my resume from our university database. I got cleared for a 1st round interview. It was a case interview. Didn't do well, but I made it passed day 1. I then took the online verbal/quantitative tests along with the personality test, and I was invited to a super-day at the Plano campus. Arrived the day before, had dinner with some associates at a yuppy tex-mex restaurant. There I had 3 interviews, case, behavioral, case. I was close to perfect on the first case, behavioral went smoothly, and the 3rd case was lackluster on my behalf. I received an offer within the week. I got a great overall impression of the company and it's culture. I accepted the offer.

Question 1
Business case, you're making a framework to analyze a product trend in order to make a decision regarding the product/program details. What is the first question you must ask/answer?
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (McLean, VA) in Mar 2011
Interview
I received the first round interview through my school, and then received an invitation to take an online skills test. After passing that, I was then invited to interview on campus at the McLean site. The second round experience was great: a reception at the hotel the night before, limo service to and from the train station, and a private room in a 4-star hotel...great experience! As for the interview, just remember to sleep the night before so that you have a clear head to do the arithmetic that they need for the case interviews. I feel that out of all the consultancy/financial companies--Capital One places the most emphasis on the ability to think and do math.
