The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2022
Interview
1. Phone screening with recruiter
2. Interview with manager
3. Power day!!!! (5 hours of interview but there was schedule conflict, I spent total 8 hours including waiting time)
If you are in west side you might have to start power day from 6:00 am
Hardest part of power day interview was scenario one:
Pretend that you are talking to client after 15 min of review on the provided slide
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Capital One in Feb 2022
Interview
Dont Waste Your Time.
Recruiters waste your time and hiring process is lengthy that is another huge waste of time. Utilize that time to apply for better paying companies instead. One can easily get 2-3 DS jobs with the time wasted here. Recruiters apathy can result in not completing their hiring process.

Question 1
Questions cover data processing, model building and deploying a model
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Arlington, VA) in Feb 2022
Interview
Had below rounds -
Recruiter Screen
Hiring Manager Screening
Take home assignment - involves building models and data wrangling, visualizations and answering some questions. Even though it is not explicitly asked for, I think one should submit a powerpoint presentation along with Jupyter notebook.
Virtual Onsite - Technical, Job fit, Statistics role play, case study
Recruiters provided detailed information on each round to help prepare
All interviewers were nice and friendly
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Some technical questions were kind of vague and interviewer was having a hard time articulating them and I was having a hard time understanding what they was asking. They were more focused on the engineering portion. Not so much on modeling. They tried to cover all aspects of building and deploying a model.
For the Case study round, expectations were a little confusing as they had a word document displayed on zoom with some numbers and were updating it while we were discussing and there were points when I wasn't sure if they are waiting for me to say something or are they working on updating it so I should wait for instructions.
During statistics role play, you will be given some time to review a slide with numbers and charts pertaining to a particular business problem and then explain insights, recommendations, how will you do it differently. Again here, it is up to you to time the whole process. The interviewer asked very few questions and mostly listened and kept their video off while I was reviewing the slides.
I think I was average on all rounds. You would need a strong understanding of data engineering, solving case studies and above average statistics knowledge to succeed.
