The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Capital One in Nov 2010
Interview
I applied online and a skills test was to be emailed to me and it never came. I got an email asking that I resubmit my application (do it all over again). I did so and an HR person called to schedule a phone interview for thr recruiter. On the day of the inerview, I waited for TWO HOURS and the call didn't come. I called the HR person and got voice mail so I left a message that recruiter didn't call. Didn't hear from them till after one month! I got an email asking me to anwser some general questions and a skills test whose link said error whever I clicked it. I sent an email back expressing my frustration. This was 12/2010. Did not hear from them till two days ago! 04/2011, saying they decided not to fill position atthe location I applied to.
STRANGE!!!!!!!!!
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2011
Interview
I applied online, I was called by HR within a week or 2. After a phone interview which was mostly a bunch behavior and background questions. I was told to take their online assessment tests, which I was made to believe was short but it took about 2 hours to finished. AI was called maybe about one week after to let me know I was going to the first round of one on one interview at their site in Toronto in about 2 weeks and I was also told it would consist of one situational and one case study.
On interview day, I started with a case interview, which was the Domino pizza case everybody talks about here, it was quite easy to solve and I also answered all the qualitative questions, the middle manager interviewer was quite nice, he helped me a little when my calculations were off and answered all my questions, and I finished in 45 min instead of the hour they allocated for it. But everything went wrong with the second interview, the next middle manager was quite a show off, telling me what masters degrees he had and acting too arrogant, saying that I was lucky I got to the level as most people don't even pass the online assessment test and that capital one only select the best of the best, I saw he had my resume and maybe thought that he had a complex as I had a better masters degree and career. He never made eye contact and kept smiling while writing on his note seating side ways. I felt disrespected and I was really turned off by the company with the guy even though I tried to stay professional and answered all his questions. Within maybe a week, the original HR lady called me to let me know I didn't pass the first round because i didn't solve the case but I told her, I did it well and even went above and gave more numbers that the interviewer was impressed about. But she didn't really sound like she cared, neither was I even though i was annoyed by the reason of my dismissal, she just said just apply again in a year, was polite and said thank you but in my head I was like never in my lifetime.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Plano, TX) in Mar 2011
Interview
I got contacted by a human resources representative of Capital One, a recruiter for our campus. They already had my resume from our university database. I got cleared for a 1st round interview. It was a case interview. Didn't do well, but I made it passed day 1. I then took the online verbal/quantitative tests along with the personality test, and I was invited to a super-day at the Plano campus. Arrived the day before, had dinner with some associates at a yuppy tex-mex restaurant. There I had 3 interviews, case, behavioral, case. I was close to perfect on the first case, behavioral went smoothly, and the 3rd case was lackluster on my behalf. I received an offer within the week. I got a great overall impression of the company and it's culture. I accepted the offer.
