The hiring process at Capital One takes an average of 90 days when considering 1 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Senior AI Engineer had the quickest hiring process (on average 90 days), whereas Senior AI Engineer roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 90 days).
The process was very smooth and quick, they let you know your results within a few days so you're never left wondering, which I appreciated. They provide a lot of guides and resources to help you prepare, and I felt like it did accurately give me enough experience and practice for my interviews. I had 2 rounds of interviews, one was a regular product case interview with a Senior PM and after that I had the Power Day interviews (4 back to back interviews). Each were detailed and thorough, and I would not have done as well as I did without the prep work they suggested/provided. All my interviewers were also very kind and engaging, and they helped me along whenever I started to struggle/get lost trying to solve the problem during the interview. Overall, a good and exhausting experience, but worth being a part of as I feel like it really improved my skills regardless of whether I received an offer or not.

Tell me about a project you worked on in the past.

Interview
It took over a month to setup their interview day. I emailed them two days before my interview day since I had not gotten my schedule yet. They told me that they were having a hard time finding someone for the behavioral interview. I got my schedule the following day and saw that the first interview would be the behavioral one. The day of the interview came along, the person that is doing the behavioral interviews got on the call, they introduced themself for about five minutes and then they started to ask questions right away. This person did not even ask me for my name. This person did not ask me to introduce myself. Or let alone give me the chance to introduce myself. Just note that this is totally the opposite of how it is supposed to go according to the booklet that they send out. The interviewer is not supposed to introduce themselves, but the interviewee is supposed to introduce themselves according to their booklet... At that point, I just did not care as much as I had. Why would I want to work at a company where people would not even want to know my name? After that, there were three more interviews. Two of them were coding and one of them was more conversational then coding. The last interviewer could not even get the site where the interview was supposed to take place to work. So I had to do the coding part on a blank notepad document. My only advice is to not waste your time with this place. It is definitely not worth it. It was a terrible experience.

Interview
Interview is a "power day" that lasts about 4-6 hours. Consists of 3 rounds, a behavioral, case, and technical interview. The behavioral is concerned with questions regarding how you work with others, the case involves questions related to how you would strategize certain business/technical decisions, and the technical interview is a easy/moderate coding test.
