I applied online and the recruiter reached out to me. Recruiter call was more about the role, hiring process, expectations, learning more about myself, salary expectations, benefits etc. Recruiter asked to prepare 3 capital one products to prepare - capitalOne shopping, capital one mobile app, virtual card numbers. During mini case 1 hour interview, started with general introduction. Then, he asked me about the feature I would develop for capital one mobile app and how can i attract more customers to use that feature?

One online technical assessment involving algorithms. Then 4 interviews each 1-hour long.
Do not waste your time with this process. They do not know how to interview candidates or how to show some decency by at least paying attention during the interview. The process is very long, and if they decide you didn't "pass" one of the interviews, all 3 of your other interviews don't count either. For two of mine, the interviewers were distracted the whole time; I had to repeat my questions multiple times. I "passed" all but one, so I was declined.
Warning to all my skilled engineering colleagues out there, don't waste your time here.

The interview process followed the STAR methodology, focusing on situational and behavioral questions. There were technical rounds covering coding, system design, and practical problem-solving, as well as questions about past work experience, teamwork, and project delivery. The overall experience was structured, professional, and gave insight into the company’s work culture.
