I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Capital One in Oct 2020
Interview
4 roughly one hour interviews, each with a different disposition.
One technical coding interview, the engineer conducting the interview was helpful but didn't give away too much, but don't be scared, it was a very reasonable problem to solve.
The case study interview was really fun and a little technical. Prepping for that was key to just be ready to think with both a business and technical hat on.
The architecture/design interview was the most fun, we designed a whole system and talked through the challenges of scale, security, and evolving needs.

Question 1
Design a system given a set of parameters that change throughout the conversation and describe the system with words, in writing.
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (Plano, TX) in Sep 2020
Interview
first round with recruiter after three days,
second round with hiring Manager and after one week
third round with hiring Manager and the team and then after two weeks
last round again with hiring Manager
This is an a 8 hour, full day interview that has no bearing on the skills needed for this position. You will be evaluated on your ability to survive several case studies (including one which requires substantial work ahead of time), in the manner of a full-on consulting firm, which Capital One is not. Further, be aware that this interview will cover areas outside of your skill set, most likely not in your field, and also likely not anything you would be doing in the job described. The entire process is like a little self-sustaining industry, and I don't understand what the purpose is - nothing I did or saw on that day had anything to do with the job I was applying for.

Question 1
Solve this case study with math skills you don't have, using concepts you don't know, none of which you need to do this job. OK?
