I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Nov 2018
Interview
The interview process was positive and fair. I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn and was encouraged to apply. From there I was invited to Richmond, VA for an on-site interview. Capital One paid for my flight, hotel, and $75/day for food. On the day of the interview, I, along with a group of other interviewees, were given a tour of the campus by current engineers in the development program and was able to ask a lot of questions about the role and the company culture. After lunch, I had three 45-minute interviews back to back, with a 15 minute break between the second and third. The interview was broken up into three sections: behavioral, technical, and a case analysis. the behavioral interview does not take the full 45 minutes, so you get to ask questions at the end. The technical interview was fair and nothing out of the ordinary. They are not trying to trick you. Just walk through your logic and definitely talk it through with your interviewer. Two days later, I received a call from my recruiter with an offer. Overall, I had a great experience.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Capital One
Interview
Applied through referral and got a powerday a few weeks later. Went through three interviews back to back and received a rejection the next day.
The powerday is one CapitalOne's way of getting through the entire interview process in as little time as possible and it is honestly one of the most difficult and confusing processes ever if done poorly. I interviewed early in the morning and had to do a technical, case, and behavioral interview all within minutes of completing the previous interview. It's exhausting and if you mess up in one you'll definitely perform poorly in the following.
I applied online. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA)
Interview
I applied on the Capital One career site for the Technology Development Program. Within a week or two I received an email for an onsite interview. I was flown out, stayed in a hotel that night and the following morning I had my interview. Expenses covered included $75 per day for meals, airplane travel, & up to 5 free lyft rides.
