I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Capital One in Oct 2017
Interview
Three interviews back to back. One was a behavioral interview, which consisted of basic questions like work you've done, your biggest weakness, etc. One was a job fit interview which consisted of creating 2 algorithms. One was a case study - I was told this would be a business problem which required basic math, but this was far from the truth. First was given code pertaining to encryption and had to explain it. Then had to write code for an application that could use the encryption code to encrypt all the files in a directory.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) Create an algorithm that determines if a tree is a BST
2) Create an algorithm that converts a number into a word (converts the integer 345 into the string "Three Hundred Forty Five"
3) How do explain technology to someone who doesn't have a good understanding of technology.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Capital One in Sep 2017
Interview
They gave us some information in an email about the basics of it and they went by that in the interviews. It was an on-campus interview at GMU and was three parts (behavioral, technical, and job-fit) and was 45 mins each part. It didn't seem too hard except they asked a Java question for the technical part and I didn't know any Java so that was a bit difficult.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Richmond, VA) in Sep 2017
Interview
Contacted by a recruiter. Had a quick phone interview, told me to apply through her link. About a month later scheduled an interview for onsite. Tour of campus, lunch, then 3 interviews back to back. Case interview, Behavioral and technical.
