I called up the HR contact which was given in a job posting by EnY. In a discussion with her, she told me about an opening with the transaction advisory services which would fit in with my prior work experience. I agreed for the interview. She discussed it with the manager of the relevant department and an interview was scheduled for the very next day.
The interview lasted for about 45 minutes. The interviewer was quite professional and at the same time, put me at my ease. Following questions were asked:
- my previous work experience
- different valuation methodologies
- relative valuation
- examples of sector specific multiples
- DCF valuation
- comfort with relocation
The whole process was very quick,efficient and professional. I liked the fact that the interviewer asked me questions pertinent to my work exp. and the position I was interviewing for. No time was wasted in asking inane questions. I asked the interviewer about the kind of work culture EnY has and the impression I got from his answer, was that people took the initiative for their work and there was enough freedom to do things your way,provided you got the work done.
All in all,I got a very favourable impression of a professional work environment.
