Interview
I was called first for a zoom interview where the manager would be present and an employee of the HR. After thoroughly explaining the masters i have obtained and my work experience the manager asked me whether the pursuing of three masters concurrently would stand in the way of being a good employee. As i came to realize she had not heard me at all the entire interview. I then went on to explain i had obtained all three llms and her response was that i had to tell her what the llms were about and what was my thesis subject . When i kindly told her i had already elaborated them but i wpuld be more than happy to explain further she criticised me for not being a comprehensive narrator ! She also corrected me once when i said i am currently dealing with aspects of corporate law in the firm i work at and said no you are wrong its commercial law ! All the questions asked were targeted on whether i am willing to work relentless hours with pressure and sometimes high tones ! Specifically i was asked how i would handle and urgent matter ! I said i was willing to work more and overtime in case of an urgent matter but if that happens on an everyday basis i would consider it . They replied that the department where i will be is new and hence i will have to work more. When i asked them to specify i only received the answer from the HR that anyways lawyers dont have a work schedule with a smile on his face!
After that i was asked how i would react if there would be high tones in the office during times of pressure. In particular i was asked : if there is pressure at work and someone yells eg your manager due to stress what would you do ? Would you take it personally or not ? Then they asked me if anyone from my work had ever mentioned my flaws to me and if i have any flaw related to work ! In general the whole interview was disgracing towards the employee. Fun fact they called me for an interview because i had the level of expertise of a mid level to senior yet they could only offer me the salary of a junior because after all i applied for a junior position. They also mentioned that if needed be i will have to work on legal projects of other teams to assist them ( they wouldn hire other people for the new department i would be placed so i would have to work overtime while i would have to work other departments as well?) . To all the questions asked all answers they gave me were vague. I also have to mention that the cancelled the first interview last minute.
Later i was called for a second interview at their premises which are far from downtown. After arriving at the premises despite a riot at the day and having waited for fifteen minutes alone at a meeting room ( needless to say they rescheduled the second interview last minute as well ) another employee of the HR came to let me know that the manager with whom i would meet and for whom i drove all the way to the premises would not be present but would attend via zoom ! Again i was asked the same questions. When asked about the overtime i replied that it had to be clarified fo me whether i will be working overtime e g. 12 hours a day because it is something i do not wish to do on a daily basis . The reply i received from the HR was that she is not sure whether i will have to work that long but its possible but i would have to refer to the manager again just to be sure(who had left the chat for a meeting after posing the questions and replying vaguely and with generalities) . They then let me know that there would be a third interview for which i was never called ( i assume due to the fact that i made clear that i would like to have some personal life ) . To my dissatisfaction i have sent two emails to be informed on whether the position has been filled and to this day (two weeks following my emails) they have not been replied. I am very disappointed for their behavior they are supposed to be a big four . If they needed the nee department to run smoothly they should hire more personel since they have the resources rather than pressuring an employee to be to work overtime for a poor salary. The questions asked to me were against any labor right and should be banned. Clear answers to the employee in regards the type of job he / she will conduct which departments he/she would assist should be answered so that the employee has a clear understanding of the role. Otherwise the whole interview seems like a way to take advantage of the employee to be.

Question 1
If asked to stay overtime are you willing to do so?
If the tones are high due to pressure from tour manager what would your reaction be ? Would you justify this behavior due to stress and heavy workload ? Are you a person that gets offended easily? Has anyone (co-worker, manager ) let you know of any flaws you have ?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at EY (Diegem, Flemish Brabant) in Feb 2018
Interview
