I applied via the Epic website, received an email to set up a phone interview a couple of days later. The phone interview was pretty informal, spoke with a current Project Manager about my resume and was given a chance to ask questions about the role. Follow-up for an on-site interview was a few days later. At the on-site interview, in the morning the candidate group was given a company overview and software demonstration, then we sat down with a current Project Manager to hear more about the role and ask questions. After that we interviewed 1 on 1 with a Project Manager, which entailed typical interview questions (i.e., difficult coworker, working on teams, etc.). Then we had to give a short 10-minute presentation on the topic of our choice (no powerpoint) to 3-4 Epic employees. After this was a case study interview, where we were given 10 minutes to read through a healthcare scenario and were then asked questions about resolving issues from the case. Finally, we had the HR interview (notable questions: What are your 5 greatest weaknesses, what are misconceptions people have about you upon first meeting you), and lunch/facilities tour and the day was over.
I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Epic in Sep 2014
Interview
Got an email from an HR guy saying that he is pleased to schedule a phone interview ( ThursdayI) I took a short assessment and waited for my phone interview. Right before the interview I took the Long 2 hour proctored assessment over that weekend. It was a horrible experience. I started with one proctor and got handed down by like 5 of them, none of whom were answering questions I had.
Then I got interviewed by a fellow Project Manager on Monday.( non managerial position). Which I felt went quite nice. On Tuesday, I get an email from a different HR, that I never spoke to again that i am no longer considered for the position.
I was shocked at how they manhandled me from one HR to another. Very impersonal. Very cold and though.
This was the company I wanted to work for, for a long time and was willing to leave everything behind and move there.
They judge you based on your 2 assessment, that resembles GRE/GMAT. It also has brutal programming section, which is very very rough!
I am an honor student from one of the top universities, however I am a horrible test taker, and they overlook the fact that someone could be amazing at what they do simply because they do not have test taking skills. Very very SAD!!!
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Epic
Interview
Just had a phone interview so far. All I had to do was submit my resume. The interview was straightforward - just questions like "where do you see yourself in five years?" and "how did you hear about us?" Before that, there was incredibly difficult SAT-like exam, that I thought I did poorly on, but they invited me to Madison, WI for a second round of interviews.
