The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Jan 2012
Interview
Was first contacted via email about a position that I might be "a good fit for". I bit so I replied back and was asked to apply online. After they received my application I was given a link to do an online assessment. After that was completed I was then emailed and asked to schedule a phone interview. I was told what to expect, which was more or less to verify my work and background experience. The day of the phone interview came. Most of the questions were to explain some of my work history listed on my resume. Asked about high school and undergrad GPA, didn't seem to interested in my Graduate GPA because they didn't ask me. Asked me why I wanted this position and why I would be a good fit for this position. Ask me what I'm looking for in my next job. Also asked me what I expected for salary. Then there was time for me to ask questions which I did. Some about the position some about the company etc. After the interview ended I think like about a week later or less, I got an email that said they were moving on with out me. I guess I fumbled something during the phone interview. Oh well, seemed like a sweet opportunity.
The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Feb 2012
Interview
The phone interview is short and consists of basic behavioral questions. It is followed by a grueling on campus day where you will be more impressed with the overall look of the environment than the people working there. HR has many attractive and young people working who will smile and be friendly all day, and the employees who talk to you will half-heartedly tell you how wonderful Epic is while some others will tell you that you will get burned out quickly. Be ready for an all day agenda filled with tests and interviews.
I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Mar 2012
Interview
I was first sent the standard link for a Rembrandt personality test. A few weeks went by, and I kind of figured I'd been passed up already, but then I got an email for a phone interview (the email hinted that I hadn't given a reply to an earlier email requesting an interview, but I'd never received anything--weird). During the phone interview, we went through the typical "tell me about yourself", "why Epic", "why are you interested in healthcare" questions. Having read up on other people's experiences, I was expecting to be asked for 5 adjectives that do/don't describe, or some such question, but instead I was asked for my five year plan. That was kind of a curveball, especially since I'd just detailed my college experience, which has involved some major major changes, plus no one else on here had mentioned that question. And . . . that was the last question before I was given a chance to ask my own questions.
It wasn't a hard interview, but especially given the context, I felt the 5-year plan question was kind of dumb. I also didn't like the "why are you interested in healthcare" one--what does one say to that? "For the same reason you're interested in cars over trucks (or baking over chocolate, etc.)"? It's just an innate interest.
