First, I was contacted via e-mail to set up a phone interview with a current employee in that position. I initially was recruited for a Technical position. They asked about my resume, my interest in this role, how I handle success/failure, why I am interested in Epic, etc. It was a very simple interview and lasted around 20-30 minutes. Make sure to ask the person questions about their role.
Next, I was set up to take their online test and personality test. There are 4 sections (Math, Verbal, Programming, and a time Standard section with a mix of all 3). You just need scratch paper and a calculator. I do poorly on standardized tests, so I'm surprised they continued the process but they had me apply for a different role: Project Manager.
Lastly, I was invited to the on-site interview. They put you up in a nice hotel with other Epic candidates. I went to dinner the night before with Epic employees who were friendly and very excited to talk about their job and Madison. The following day, we had our interviews.
The on-site interview takes up your entire day. Every minute is planned and extremely organized, there's always a different person meeting and/or interviewing you. You'll have an interview with someone in the current position, a case study, a presentation, lunch, a tour of the campus, and a final interview with HR. For the presentation, you should pick a topic you're really interested in, it'll be easier to answer questions. Practice beforehand, they're really judging your performance and ability to speak in public. Throughout the day, whether it's in the case study or the final interview with HR, make sure you emphasize communication, team work, flexibility, and being goal-oriented.
Make sure you're dressed in business casual at least! For men, I recommend khakis, slacks, a nice button down dress shirt or polo. No tie necessary. For women, I recommend business causal slacks, a nice skirt and sweater, a dress. If you dress up professional, you will really stick out. Their attire is always causal and it's important they can see you fitting in there. Also, do not feel intimidated by the other Epic candidates. There will be at least 20 of you interviewing throughout the day. They are always hiring multiples for a position. It's great to make a friend and have someone to talk about the experience with, also it's good for the employees to see you feeling comfortable at Epic.
