I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Mar 2013
Interview
Had to take a relatively difficult logic test on my university campus at the testing center. Heard back in about a week that I had passed the test and Epic wanted me to come interview in person in Madison, WI. I drove and then reimbursed my gas costs as well as mileage (I ended up making about $200 extra). While in Madison they put me up in a really nice hotel and also took us (a group of about 5 people) out to a really nice and relaxed dinner which was really fun. Got the chance to talk to an associate who was really nice and also get to know some of the other interviewees. Interview day was pretty long; they base you at one place and different people come to pick you up after you've been dropped off. Everyone is incredibly nice though so it is a pleasure to talk to them. They ask a lot of behavioral questions as well as personality questions so be prepared for that. They are really focused on teamwork and seeing if you are smart and sharp. Dress code is casual but I dressed up a little bit because it just didn't feel right. The presentation was by far the worse part of the day but once it's done you get to go to lunch which was amazing. After lunch you do a case study with another interviewee and you are expected to sort of collaborate and use each others' ideas. After that you meet with your recruiter and have a wrap-up chat session and then you are free to go.
The campus is absolutely beautiful and the people are so friendly. Overall it was a really great experience but definitely stressful. You can tell that all the people who work there are really smart and work really hard which can be intimidating.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Epic
Interview
Preliminary interview as conducted over the telephone by a Human Resources representative who was very easy to talk to. Conversation was pleasant and covered general topic and some specific to the role.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in May 2013
Interview
The interview process was very long and involved, however the interviewers were all young and inexperienced and didn't seem to know how to run an interview very well. I left feeling that the process was very rushed and inefficient
