I applied online. I interviewed at Epic in Jan 2018
Interview
The first step was a phone interview with a software developer in the company. They asked normal stuff like why you like coding, what projects have you made, how does the code in the projects work. After that, they take some time to explain what it’s like to work there. I actually didn’t think I did that well but I was contacted to schedule the technical phase a few days later.
In the technical phase, you take an online assessment while a proctor watches you through a webcam to make sure you aren’t cheating. There are 3 section. The first section is the only timed section and you answer as many math questions as you can within a couple minutes. In the second section, they give you specifications for a made up programming language and you answer questions. The third section has 4 programming questions. You could only use Java or C++ if you were applying to be a software developer. You are allowed scratch paper and a calculator. You can take a break between sections but not during. You can’t change tabs in your web browser or minimize the window. They let you know if they want you to go to an onsite interview within a couple weeks.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Madison, WI) in Jan 2019
Interview
After submitting my resume, I was scheduled for a phone interview, an online skills assessment, and then an on-site. The phone interview is to get a feel for your personality, the online assessment is a three part technical interview, and the on-site is an all-day event with three more interviews.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic in Jan 2019
Interview
1. Phone Interview
No technical questions. Just reviewed the resume and why you want to come to Epic.
2. Skill Assessment
Study for this! You cannot use other languages besides Java, C, C++ if you are a CS major.
The more you study, the better you will do.
3. Still waiting for the next step!
