I met with a Manager for my initial interview. To be honest, I hadn't prepared very well and the interview did not go well as a result. However, I followed up promptly with sincere interest, and we agreed to have a follow up interview. The follow up was much more casual, and I had prepared quite a bit more prior to this one. My final interview was with the Partner that the role reported up through. He was very friendly, made me feel comfortable, talked quite a bit about his section of the business, and affirmed that the skills I possessed were ones he wanted to see within the firm. One discrepancy was that the Manager was posing a technical role for which I would need extensive training, while the Partner stated I was a perfect fit for the functional role and that he could see me doing well as such. I ultimately did not accept a position as it just did not seem like a good fit for me, especially as part of the technical team.
