I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lidl (Glasgow, Schottland) in Jan 2020
Interview
The process was extremely convoluted for the position you are applying for. First you go through a group interview where everyone is competing with each other and then there is a separate interview with one of the managers. you would think you were applying to work at the Ministry of Defence.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Are you able to attend shifts at the very last minute up to 10pm?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Bristol, England) in Oct 2020
Interview
The application process starts with filling out an application on their website and then going through an online assessment process where you have to respond to situations in a way that you would if you had the job.
Then if you're successful they phone you for a brief 10 minute telephone interview where they ask you basic questions about your employment history, why you want the job and things like that.
If you're successful at that stage, the phone interviewer will set up an interview with the store manager and the assistant manager (at least that's who interviewed me) and then you go in for a 30 minute in person interview.
At the in person interview, they'll ask you a bunch of questions about your employment history, they'll give you another situation where you're asked to prioritise tasks in the store, they ask you what you know about Lidl...
Then they give you a clipboard and tell you to walk around the store trying to point out things that you think are good and things that you think are bad.
After that, the interview is over. They offered me the job the same day via a phone call.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Halifax, England) in Aug 2017
Interview
Online assement then an interview in person which was straight forward and made me feel at ease.
The interview process was any easy back and forth talking about situations that could arise and what you would in such situations.
Example would be if a customer wanted an item we no longer stocked.
