I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lightspeed (Montreal, QC) in Dec 2025
Interview
The process started with an initial screening with the recruiter, followed by a take-home assignment that I've found genuinely interesting and required making clear trade-offs. Next came a behavioral interview and a system design interview, both focused on real-world scenarios rather than abstract theory. The quality of the technical questions made it easy to gauge the team's engineering maturity and the complexity of the challenges they work on.
Throughout, the recruiter (Nik) stayed in close contact, consistently providing updates and guidance. I received quick, detailed, and constructive feedback after each stage, which is something I greatly appreciated and rarely see nowadays. Even before receiving the offer, I had a strong sense of the company's culture and professionalism.
From application to signing the offer, the entire process took about two weeks.
While I was in the final interview stages with another company, I accepted the Lightspeed offer without hesitation.
