Pros

Genuine care for employee wellbeing through an EAP set-up, unlimited paid leave, enhanced parental leave etc. A large focus on office culture and improving employee experience - frequent office events, Culture Club etc. Central location, close to public transport, free parking provided. Overall, the Auckland office offers great, highly intelligent people, inspiring leaders and a modern, open-plan office. The company as a whole is fast-paced which means you're constantly learning. Being a global company, you're exposed to people all over the world, on different time zones and with different working styles which is arguably an amazing benefit of working here.

Cons

Being a foreign owned multinational, the strategy and operations are largely driven by the parent company. This sometimes means having to adapt to decisions made elsewhere and creates a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Being such a large company, it can be easy to be another "cog in the wheel" without self-motivation and a focus on your own career path.

Efforts in AI adoption hindered by management instability

Pros

Leadership puts effort into AI adoption across org. Decent benefits (transit pass, insurance, gym discount, etc). Less toxic/stressful than a typical tech company.

Cons

Frequent management change, and hard to continue steady career growth. Cross-team collaboration can get political. Has too many product lines, and could feel you're falling behind the industry if you're working a legacy product.

Supportive team with great growth opportunities

Pros

The opportunity here is massive if you're willing to put your hand up. Within a few months I was travelling, meeting teams in other countries, and working on projects that pushed me outside my comfort zone, but I had the support to bring them to life. Also, there are a lot of smart, experienced people around you, but very little ego. If you need advice or feedback, people are so generous with their time. So I've learned a huge amount since joining. And overall, the Auckland team is really just fun to be around and there's always something happening at the office: we've got morning bagels, Thursday drinks, various team events, dogs wandering around. The flexibility is fantastic too: the work-from-anywhere policy is one of my favourite benefits, and because the office is actually great, you end up having real choice about how you work.

Cons

It's a fast-moving environment with lots of opportunities, which is great, but it also means it's easy to take on too much. I've definitely had moments where I've felt stretched.
