I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Lightspeed (Montreal, QC) in Sep 2022
Interview
There’s a first interview screening with a recruiter who asks you about your background and see if there’s a fit with the job.
Then you have a one hour interview with the Hiring director and VP who go in depth in your experience and ask you behavioural questions.
The last round is a use case that you present to a group product manager, a UX designer and an engineer. It’s one hour where you take them through a product design process that you delivered.

I applied online. I interviewed at Lightspeed (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2021
Interview
A bit unprofessional.
I was called for a telephonic discussion by HR. A day before the interview, the job posting was removed from the website, so got an idea that the position is either filled or canceled.
On the day, HR was disengaged from the beginning.
She didn't have the courtesy to explain the position, company, etc. but directly asking questions about my experience. The discussion hardly went on for 10-12 mins and she asked do you have any questions. That time I knew this interview is not going anywhere. A couple of days later I got a rejection email.
If the position is filled please have the decency to tell us that position is filled and so we have to cancel the interview. I would totally understand. Our time has value too. A bit of success for such companies really speaks about their arrogance.
Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We’re sorry to hear about your bad experience.
There are different reasons why we would unpublish a role, and it's not always because the position has been filled or cancelled. It could just be that we were dealing with a very high volume of applications for example and preferred to stop receiving new CVs.
The feedback you're sharing around the communication from our team is where we fell short though, and we sincerely apologise for this. We aim to provide a great experience to all our candidates and your feedback helps us do better.
Thanks
Milena, Talent Team
