I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Macy's in Oct 2012
Interview
Filled out application online for a seasonal beauty advisor position. Had one on one interview with the department manager. He asked me general questions about my previous work experience and customer service. He also asked me about my sales experience and comfort zone. Manager really liked me so he recommended me for a permanent, part time position with a particular brand. Was contacted by the brand account executive the next day and received a job offer by the end of the week.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Aventura, FL) in Jul 2012
Interview
I interviewed at the Aventura Mall location and although its a beautiful macys it was really unorganized. The interview itself wasnt difficult. It was actually quite easy and took no time at all. They asked basic questions like why do you want to work at macys and what experience do you have working retail. Also if I would be comfortable working different counters every time I came in. He hired me on the spot and since no one told me I had to bring my birth certificate I had to return home to get it and bring it back. Then it took forever to get my paper work in order. I accepted the position because I needed work but to be honest I would have just walked out based on how poorly run the HR office was. Granted it was busy but thats no excuse.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Macy's (Pittsburgh, PA) in Nov 2012
Interview
I applied online after finding a job posting on Craigslist. I got an email after about 3 weeks for an interview at their Downtown location. I arrived 10 minutes early and had to wait about an hour before my interview. The interviewer was sweet and friendly nor were the questions very difficult. However, I was not available at the hours they wanted. Being a Downtown location, they wanted people to work Monday-Thursday during the day and being a student, I could only work evenings and weekends.
