I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Leeds, England) in Sep 2025
Interview
Got an in-person interview. It went well, very standard questions, a few scenario questions but nothing too difficult. It felt like a positive interaction and I was told I had passed and they would be in touch about a contract within 2 weeks. After around 4 weeks of no response I emailed and was sent an automated message that said to wait longer.
Overall, poor communication and a feeling of false hope, which is a shame as it is a respected company in the UK. I have heard of this happening to people before, whilst some do not experience this. I assume it varies location to location.
Easy, friendly, and not intimidating at all. Very nice process, simple and felt collaborative. Felt like the interviewer wanted me to succeed which was encouraging, and I felt very relaxed

Interview
The interview was kept short and the manager was also friendly. They asked really simple questions such as 'What do you know about M&S' and 'What retail experience do you have?'
