I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer in Sep 2014
Interview
Applied online using the M&S careers website, the whole process was pretty straight forward. You have to complete an online form and test which evaluates how you would respond in different situations on the shop floor. After I completed the online test, I was given the option to select an interview date for the next week. The actual interview was pretty basic, you are given a role play to carry out. Before the role play you are given a sheet with pictures and information of their stock as well as details about surrounding stores and promotions. Your are given 5 minutes to read the sheet carefully and try to take in as much of the information as you can. The interviewer then entered the room and proceeded with the role play in which I had to solve an issue for a customer. After the role play, I was asked a few questions about myself, M&S and why I wanted the role. The interviewer told me that they would get back to me the next day to let me know if I had passed the interview.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (London, England) in Nov 2014
Interview
Initially I was contacted through LinkedIn, this was then followed by an phone interview, very basic, which then led to a mock assessment via email.
Commercial Analysis with action plan presentation for 90mins, swot plan with 30, 60 & 90 day actions. This is then followed by 30min interview, about previous experience and what you can offer the business.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Marks & Spencer (Solihull, England) in Nov 2013
Interview
Application process was fairly straightforward. Had to complete a situational judgement test after which I was invited for an interview. The interview consisted of a few standard questions about the company and then role play situation which lasted for 5 minutes or so. The interviewed acted as a customer and I had to help them decide what food to choose for an event, with the aim of being friendly and also up-selling where possible.
