This is the most bewildering and weird experience so far during my job search. I was still in shock with the unprofessionalism of this company. I know it is a highly sought after employer with a large pool of candidates applying, but please have the basic decency and respect for each individual applicant.
Recruiter reached out for a role in data scientist product analytics. The initial call with him was fine and technical phone screen was scheduled right after that.
I was supposed to have the phone screen this week. However, today I suddenly got a generic email from the recruiter informing me that they have decided not to move forward with my candidacy.
Initially I thought he sent by mistake, but when I followed up on why, he did not even bother to help me understand what is the rationale of the decline just simply replied with a one liner that your interview has been cancelled.
If I originally have an interview set up, shouldn’t you at least tell me why suddenly I am no longer in the running any more without even going through the actual interview??

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Meta
Interview
HR reached out and was nice to help with the interview preparation. The technical screen focused on product cases. The interviewer assumed that candidates were very familiar with their products, culture and the industry. No guidance were provided during the interview process.
