I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (Mumbai) in Dec 2020
Interview
I interviewed with Microsoft in India, the process was about 4 weeks long- in the last round I was supposed to speak to Service Practice Director, a lady based out of Microsoft Mumbai!
First off, this was 5th round, I was cleared with phenomenally positive feedback in all past rounds.
The lady to start with did not even show up in the interview! After waiting 10 minutes, recruiting coordinator calls and says can we reschedule to next day? I agree.
Next day, for what was suppossed to be a 45 minutes discussion, this director lady joins the call- no response to my courtesies- asks me 1 question: explain what your usual day looks like! And thats it... in 15 minutes just wraps up the interview!! It was almost like she joined for the sake of it, and dropped off.
She didnt even acknowledge any of my courtesies at the start or end of the call, it was beyond insulting!
It was almost like she was least interested, and extremely rude, I wad beyond aghast, not to mention extremely dissappointed, because 4 weeks of my effort went down the drain in like 15 minutes, just because this woman is least interested!
While the recruiter herself hasn’t been in touch for the entire 4 weeks process, I dont even know who to share this with? The recruiter hasnt been even responding to emails throughout the process, only the interview scheduler used to call, and that scheduling coordinator also isnt picking up the phone now!
So senior level professionals, especially in India, who invest their time and efforts into Microsoft beware, this is how uncouth and unprofessional their management is!
First Round interview was a 30 minute phone call discussing my skills and why I want to work at Microsoft.
Final Round was a super day where I spoke with multiple people. Overall it was a mostly behavioral along with me speaking on my technical skills.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Microsoft in Oct 2020
Interview
First round was a phone screen, just general behavioral questions and fairly easy. Second round was three interviews back to back with two managers and one associate. I would recommend understanding everything Microsoft does and their values. Also, don't be intimidated.
