The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Own Company (Englewood Cliffs, NJ) in Apr 2024
Interview
First step: A 15-minute call with the recruiter asking a few basic questions about myself.
Second step: A 30-minute tech assessment with a very small time frame for each question and no room for error
Third step: An hour-long interview split into 2 parts (30 minutes with one person doing a classic coding assessment, and 30 minutes with another person discussing a puzzle and having me design an algorithm for it)
Fourth step: A 30-minute behavioral interview for the last round
The recruiter followed up with me between each round of interviewing

Question 1
Describe a time when you disagreed with someone on your team, and how you handled it
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Own Company (Minneapolis, MN) in Aug 2024
Interview
I had the worst experience I’ve ever encountered during this hiring process. The process was overly complicated, involving multiple steps that felt clunky and unnecessarily drawn out. A recruiter repeatedly reached out to confirm my availability for a panel interview, but when the scheduled time came, no one showed up, and no communication was sent to explain the situation. Despite my multiple follow-ups afterward, there was no response.
This level of unprofessionalism was incredibly disappointing and reflects poorly on the organization’s recruitment process. Clear communication and respect for candidates’ time are essential, and this experience fell far short of those basic expectations.
