I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Own Company
Interview
I interviewed with HR to start and then with the direct report. After a take home assessment, I was assigned two more interviews. While the assessment went fine, the interviews after were completely useless. After being ghosted for a week and told about a reschedule for an interview, I was told the role is paused hiring for 2 months. What??? So you wasted my time, your employees, and everyone in between and couldn't determine this before? This didn't sound legit and they just couldn't outright reject me. Very very unprofessional and embarrassing behavior by HR. If this is how they treat potential employees imagine how they treat the clients they work with.
I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Own Company (Englewood, NJ) in Jul 2024
Interview
After applying online, I received a response within three weeks and was invited to a first-stage interview. During that initial interview, I was informed that Own was looking to move quickly as they needed to fill the position ASAP. I was assured I would be moving forward in the process.
However, the communication that followed was inconsistent. It took two weeks for the recruiter to request my availability for the next stage, and future interviews took 2-3 weeks out from the availability request. This delay was unexpected, especially given the initial urgency initiay mentioned.
As of now, it has been 8 weeks since the first email from the recruiter, and I have only completed the third stage of the process, with 2 remaining. To add to the frustration, I recently noticed that not only are there new job postings from the company, but the specific role I applied for has already been filled.
This prolonged and disorganized process has been disheartening, and it reflects poorly on the company’s ability to manage its recruitment efforts effectively.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Own Company (Englewood, NJ) in Aug 2024
Interview
This is for the NJ location. There was an interview with hiring manager, then a interview with senior software dev, then a on-site with an interview with two of the people that I would be on the team with.
There was no coding challenge, no system design and no "describe in detail something you built". The interviews consisted mostly of vocab trivia and were extremely easy, save one. The one difficult one was with a team member, Dan, that was beyond ridiculous. He was like that professor from college than nobody liked. He was very opinionated and if you didn't give give him answer that was acceptable enough he would demand a better answer.
Everyone except the one guy was very nice.
The office is really nice BUT it is in suburban part of NJ. You really need a car.
