I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Slack in Oct 2019
Interview
The interview process took 4 weeks after hearing back (about 2 weeks after I submitted my application online). I had an overwhelmingly positive experience -- the people who work at Slack are passionate and driven, some of the best I've come across. The recruiter did an incredible job helping me to prepare and guiding me through the process and I really enjoyed meeting the team.
I first had a quick screen with the recruiter, then a 1:1 phone interview with the hiring manager before being brought on site. Onsite was about 2.5 hours and it was a combination of 1:1 and panel interviews.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Slack (Vancouver, BC) in Jul 2019
Interview
The Slack team was very transparent throughout the entire process. They provided a good idea of the structure of the interview. The team was professional and had thoughtful questions around leadership skills, support philosophies, and personality assessments.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Slack in Sep 2019
Interview
Applied with referral and got a coding challenge about 2 weeks after. Completed the coding challenge and about a month later, I got called by a recruiter without any prior scheduling on the weekend at almost sunset, to schedule a phone interview later the week. There weren't any confirmations through email or anything so I was sketched out. The phone interview did take place and they asked for my availability for the next 2 weeks soon after, which I filled out ASAP. I never heard back about a interview confirmation.
