Interview
You don't get interviewed for the military in the normal fashion. You pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and from that test the recuiter tells you what jobs are available for your skills. The military is like a vocational school and with the results from the ASVAB they to place in the best job that will fit your skills with a position the military needs at the moment. You have a physical exam and a pre-employment drug screening you have to pass. If your successful and make your way to basic you have to follow orders and keep your nose out of trouble for the extent of your training there. Once completed you are required to accomplish your job specialization training where ever it may be held. Your job training can be from 4 weeks to 1 year or longer depending on your job.
After all that is said and done then you have a completed your first series of the interview process.
Take ASFAB test, pick job based on scores. Determine when you want to enlist and sign up. The Air Force is much more selective now, so make sure you are in shape. You need to be able to run at least 1.5 miles and do about 50 sit up and pushups.

The USAF is primarily entry level. Show up to your local recruiter. They will work with you on the details. Ensure you do not have any issues with substance abuse. They will send you to MEPS to get your physical, among other things. Make sure to provide all your documents; birth certificate, social security card, high school diploma or GED, college transcripts if any (you stand the chance of early promotion). Most DEP programs at the recruiters office desire you to meet often with other recruits. This is meant to familiarize you with what to expect at BMT. They will also encourage you to exercise. They will ask you all sorts of questions about your health. There are a few things that can disqualify you. History of mental instability, severe scoliosis, bad criminal history, DUI, etc.
