I applied online. I interviewed at Waitrose (Newport, Newport, Wales) in Oct 2018
Interview
Apply online and do online testing. Then go for an interview which was 1:1. Asked me about myself and then moved on to questions that were mainly about past experiences - like give an example of when you have suggested a change.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When have you made a mistake in a work environment and what did you learn from it?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Waitrose
Interview
The process took about two weeks.
My interview consisted of a few group tasks followed by some solo questioning. The group tasks required you to basically sell a substitute item to a customer when theirs wasn't in stock and a couple of similar situations.
Nothing too different to what was in the situational judgement tests online.

Question 1
If you were a food or a drink what would you be and why?
I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Waitrose (Bracknell, England) in Nov 2018
Interview
Very slow process. A total of 8 weeks from initial application to face-to-face interview. After the initial sift there was a routine telephone interview, then a long delay before the second interview was arranged. The second interview consisted of a case study, upon which a presentation had to be prepared before the interview. The case study was not very clearly explained and seems to have been made deliberately ambiguous. The presentation was followed by competence based questions. The interviewers seemed friendly enough, but I had the feeling all along that they were going through the motions. I was easily well qualified for the role, in fact probably even too senior, and this may have been seen as a threat to some people. They refused to provide proper feedback after the interview, which was puerile and thoroughly unprofessional.
