I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Waitrose (Bracknell, England) in Nov 2016
Interview
Fairly standard multi-stage process for a 12 month student placement. Involved going to Waitrose Head Office in Bracknell, UK and engaging in a range of exercises. One had to prepare a presentation to be presented on a one-to-one basis by an assessor (not electronically, slides had to be printed beforehand). We then had a group exercise around the opening of a new store- as a group we had to decide what would feature in the store given the demographics of the area. The process ended with a one-to-one interview.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Waitrose (Chester, England) in Nov 2017
Interview
Filled in an online application form, was invited to a group interview shortly afterwards.
In a group of about 10 we were asked to work as a group to come up with solutions to problems. This lasted about an hour.
We all then had one to one interviews which lasted about half an hour where you'll be asked to describe yourself, describe a time you disagreed with a management decision and how did you deal with that etc
