Interview
I applied online and was sent a text saying I'd have an interview after about 2 weeks. The interview was 2 weeks later. I arrived at Waitrose, was taken upstairs by a supermarket assistance. Then I was interviewed individually by the store manager. She was friendly and asked me simple questions about myself and my experiences. She then asked me which hours I would be available to work.

Interview
Firstly there were three online tests to complete. Once I had done the first one or two, they checked my answers to see if they aligned with what they wanted and then allowed me to fill in the main application form. After this there was one more test to complete which was then submitted with the full application form. A few days later I was informed that I had been invited to a group assessment - there were various days to choose from and different times. At the interview, we initially waited in the staff cafe for all of the candidates to arrive. For the first assessment, there was a group task in which we had to work collaboratively with 5 other candidates who were given an employee profile each. We had to sort and find which employee(s) would be suitable for certain tasks on a task list and prioritise the jobs. We then wrote down and delivered our action plan as a presentation with time for the interviewers to ask questions about our plan. Once this was complete we were escorted back to the waiting area to wait for the interviewers to be ready for our 1:1 interview (there were two interviewers at mine, with each taking one candidate at a time) where we were asked the questions listed below. After this we were free to leave and I got an email a few days later informing me that I had been offered a conditional offer, provided I had completed the extra forms (i.e. health questionnaire) that they had requested.

Question 1
When is a time you've made a mistake in the workplace and learned from it?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Waitrose (Glasgow, Schottland) in Nov 2016
Interview
A few online situational tests just asking general questions about customer service.
Invited to a group interview about a week later and was just myself and another person. We had to go through a lift of complaints and decide which were the most important and discuss a plan of action to overcome these. We were interviewed by two men who were very welcoming and put you at ease.
A 1-1 interview followed which wasn't too long or difficult, just asking about you as a person and what skills/qualities you could bring to Waitrose.
Took over 2 weeks to receive an offer - surprising as usually only a couple of days.
