I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Walgreens in Nov 2014
Interview
First I applied online back in November, then got a phone call the next day to come in for an assessment. I came in for the assessment, which took about 2 hours. After finding my scores were very good, HR offered me a one on one interview the following week. At that point, I was then offered the job at the end of the one on one interview.
I accepted the position on a contingency that I passed a drug test, background check, and acquired my Certified Pharmacy Tech Trainee License. All of this was complete as of beginning of January. My class was supposed to start on January 19th. I was very excited and got a call about a week and a half before my class to discuss my schedule following the 2 weeks of training. I picked my schedule and was told everything was set to go.
I then get a call on Monday, January 12th (a week before my class starts) from HR. I called back as they had said they had some urgent news about my class. I had already put in my notice at my current job to get ready to leave for Walgreens. I figured the call from HR was them realizing maybe that Monday was Martin Luther King, Jr Day. Nope, it was a call saying that my class had been cancelled and my job offer was taken back.
All of this ONE week before my class is supposed to start. I was simply told I could go back online and apply for other positions. Or if I STILL didn't have a job by June or July that they MAY have a class for CU Specialists then. Um, no thank you. All I can do is hope I can find something else at another company that maybe actually cares about it's current and future employees unlike Walgreens. It is sad that they could not place the 28 people in this class into another department or in the stores. Instead, just a simple "good luck you're on your own".
I'm glad that I do not have any kids to support at this point in my life. I can't even imagine what the people that do have kids and what not to support, are feeling at this moment. Shame on Walgreens for not doing their job and planning appropriately.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Nothing. It was a very easy interview, they didn't even bother to look at my resume.

Question 1
Describe situation when you had to disagree with a customer and how did you handle it?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Walgreens in Nov 2011
Interview
1. Phone interview with an HR recruiter
2. In-person interview : Walgreens has taken to using the STAR method (Situation - Task - Activity - Result) where you are asked a series (normally around 8 or 9) of questions where you are asked to describe a situation where you were faced with such and such facet of the position you're interviewing for, what you did in that situation, and what the result was.
Generally, there are 2 to 3 interviewers from the Leadership team (who are normally not the manager you will be actually working with) and an HR rep (not necessarily the recruiter you've been speaking with up to this point). Each interviewer takes a turn to ask one of the STAR questions, and all listen to your responses while jotting down notes in their interview forms.
3. Job offer : The HR recruiter calls with the offer at which time you might negotiate. They go back to the hiring Leaders, and get back to you. Once you're all agreed, you get a written, final job offer.

Question 1
Most difficult question for me was "do you have any questions?". By that time, we had been almost an hour doing the STAR questions, and everyone obviously wanted to finish. So, I had to be very selective from the dozen or so questions I really wanted to ask if we had the time.
