Pros

If you are an hourly corporate employee, you have great work/life balance. ALDI doesn’t want to worry about paying their hardworking employees overtime.

Cons

Their technology is in existent. They just started getting emails on all computers a corporate about 7 years ago? If you want to communicate with someone at corporate you have to call them- even if they are the desk over. You are viewed as lazy and have no work if you are standing at someone’s desk talking. Do not ever think about saying hi to anyone that is at a higher title than you, they will not acknowledge you per AMS (ALDI Management System), they will only talk to people at their title. Certain teams have leaders over seeing departments that have never had the experience to make executive decisions. They do not understand big picture- only the ALDI way. If you come from an external company, you will never get promoted within. Only employees that started at a store level and move to corporate are allowed the opportunity for growth. They can move to Directors, Group Buying Directors, VPs, etc. ALDI views them higher because they have store experience. Even though they are a German company, their German ways are not going to win in the high paced America workforce and will struggle in 5-10 years if they don’t alter their business model to reflect the country their in.

Pros

Work/life balance. Working as a close-knit team. Management value your option. 2-3 weeks of paid training. Friendly staff. 28 days of paid holiday. Frequent individual and group meetings to discuss any issues or concerns. You can choose which shift patterns you prefer to work and on average how many hours you'd like (if they're available).

Cons

Working very late or very early hours. Working weekends. Hard work that includes labour intensive activities. Everything is timed so there is pressure to get tasks done in a very short time limit.
