Pros

Excellent pay - although no longer a large pay gap as there once was. Pay incentive for staying with the company. Career progression - great at internal promotions as witnessed from people who have been with the company for years. Working with a variety of people - there are some great employees out there!

Cons

No work/life balance - early starts, late finishes, minimal weekends off. Long hours. Very physical work - which is great until you sustain an injury but are still required to do manual work due to the demands of the job People get stuck in the job - I worked there less than a year, the saddest part for me was when I told others I was leaving they were upset they couldn't leave too and felt trapped The culture in some stores - racist/sexist/homophobic comments considered normal "banter"

Pros

Pay Benefits staff friendships free holiday ham or turkey

Cons

Need to be available 24/7. You live and breath Aldi. You need to be physically strong. They work you like a horse. They don't require you to think. You just do.
