Pros

Free city centre parking Line managers are great/ nice colleagues 15% staff discount

Cons

- Pay significantly less than other retailers (A LOT LOWER) - The lower pay used to be compensated by the flexibility of WFH however that benefit gone now also. Now expect same/ more in office days than other retails with still a lot less pay - can tell the business is now run by an older gentleman. Old fashioned beliefs re-introduced/ working style feels as though gone back in time. - All the high skilled colleagues had left/ were leaving due to not being as many benefits anymore - No longer get bonus - Mass redundancies every year. Never felt job security which is ultimately why I chose to leave.

Horrible people and management. No regard for you being a human they just treat you like garbage that can be disposed since we’re just numbers to them at the end of the day.

Pros

Different variety of work, easy to get to

Cons

"I worked as a Section Leader at asda barrow, Upon starting this role, I quickly realized that the training provided was severely lacking. Specifically, I received no formal training for the first year, yet I was expected to know the intricacies of the job immediately. This led to frequent instances where I was publicly reprimanded by the assistant store manager for not knowing answers, despite the lack of proper preparation. In addition to the inadequate training, I was consistently required to handle the workload of three individuals without any additional support or resources. And was repumanded by the assistance store manager for asking for help. This created an unsustainable level of stress and made it impossible to perform my duties effectively. Furthermore, I was subjected to bullying and harassment by team members, including subjected to demeaning comments, slander and being talk about beside my back I reported these incidents to the manager on multiple occasions, providing detailed accounts of the bullying behavior. However, my concerns were consistently dismissed, with the managers excusing the behavior as simply being "her personality." This lack of support and the failure to address the bullying created a hostile work environment that significantly impacted my well-being and job performance. Due to the lack of training, excessive workload, unaddressed bullying, and the manager's dismissive attitude, I would not recommend this position to anyone seeking a supportive and professional work environment.
