Pros

Flexibility is fantastic. Line managers are encouraged to be supportive towards staff and their family requirements. Time off for funerals etc is always worked out by shift swaps or anything that offers flexibility to employee whilst not costing company anything which is fair enough.

Cons

As a retail business, when trading is quiet then sometimes you may get sent home and not even get your basic hours. This doesn't help people which personal budgets etc.
