Pros

Creatd service on checkout and on shopfloor. Quick service. Using self checkout is easy. Using machine for customers to use stock is sinple to use. Getting new machine 2016

Cons

Doing lots of overtime, and hardly trying other departments to see where else you could fit, trying to improve yourself, helping other colleagues is a joy. Being positive optimistic.

Pros

Used to be a good feeling to get up and go to work with a great team all pulling in the same direction. Not so now

Cons

Since we have got rid of managers and they have taken the step to go for Section Leaders most of which are kids with no experience and certainly no people's skills the stores moral has gone downhill. And now we are told that we have to take tea break at 0830 which would be fine except the canteen is not open until 0900 now that's what I call good planning

Pros

The 10% discount card was handy to have and do miss it, though that said, I now don't feel compelled to spend all my hard earned cash there. The colleagues, right across the board, were what made staying for so many years bearable.

Cons

Poor management. Lack of communication. Night team not included in rewards/celebrations leaving them feeling unimportant despite the fact that they work so damn hard. Very rare to receive positive feedback, regardless of how much time and effort you'd put in... Nitpicking on the other hand seemed to come regularly. One to one reviews just never happened. Infact, I didn't even get a leaving interview. I felt like I'd given them 6 years of my life and they hadn't even noticed I'd gone. Would I recommend working there? No. It's OK if you're a university student just working seasonal for a bit of pocket money, but the wages are awful, (£9.65 an hour on nights), and there are very few opportunities to progress due to the fact that they've done away with most of the management now. Section leaders are paid £1 an hour more that regular colleagues but are expected to work longer hours and get a Hell of a lot of grief. The only thing that made the whole thing bearable were the friends I made during my time there.
