Pros

Good team spirit, good social life, within a store people are great. It's the policies that filter down from higher up that make life hell.

Cons

Hard work. Lowest wage of all supermarkets. The only supermarket who doesn't let union talk to employees, probably because they are owned by Walmart who are notoriously draconian toward employees. Senior management is rude to your manager by not turning up to visits that they said they would. Your manager has to cope with a policy of fewest-possible-staff which means that any imperfect situation, e.g. somebody on holiday or off ill, results in the remaining staff being overworked. This company policy puts undue stress on the staff, and is the reason for the high turnover.

Pros

It was an enjoyable job that I learned a lot of new things from.

Cons

Sometimes felt bullied into working overtime or working on a certain day that I was unavailable.
