Pros

The most interesting part is chatting with the customers. They are varied and often cheeky! Generally the colleagues are fun to work with too.

Cons

Hours are not all that plentiful and have diminished over the past year. It makes it hard to stay even with the pros that there are.

Pros

nice people to work with generally, decent staff benefits loadsa community stuff and staff discount.

Cons

cut backs mean cut backs. leavers not replaced as much, things like staff canteen are being taken away, less opportunity to become a manager as department managers role are being phased out into sections leaders which are less paid. hours can be erratic from little to lots which can be unreliable when on low hour contracts which is generally the case.

Pros

Great team work on shop floor, everyone will help everyone else if needed, great sharesave scheme and pension scheme. Good team building skills and if you want to climb the tree the opportunities are there.

Cons

Depending on which stores or departments you work in, you are expected sometimes to do the work of 10 people, but not all the time. Customers are our job, but support for colleagues if a customer complains are not always forthcoming. The company will side with the customer before the colleague. A little bit more listening needs to be done. Weekends.
