Pros

The majority of managers are professional and fun to work with. Colleague benefits are are a plus too.

Cons

Its about who you know not what you know. You'll never be able to develop. Especially on South London region. The new SMP is a disaster and will only get along with you if "we're the same age and have kids" . If you don't fall under that catergory don't expect your career to go anywhere.

Pros

As a standard colleague I enjoyed it. Felt valued, was paid for what I worked, plenty of overtime available.

Cons

As a manager, absolutely appalling place to work. Expected to do way over the contracted 45 hours a week. Obviously don't get paid for that. If there's a potential visit, no breaks and stay until the boss doesn't think they're coming anymore. Culture of calls and texts from the store manager on days off and on holidays. No time allowed to spend training and motivating team, so high labour turnover.

Shift days are set. Generally most staff are easy to get on with

Cons

Will work you to death with very little break time. Home shopping is extremely hard work and very physically demanding. Management would call us in at 3am when my shift was meant to start at 6am. We would still be on the shop floor at midday and sometimes there until 3pm. Working a 12/13 hour shift with one 20min rest break and one 10min drink break is not acceptable. People were off sick due to injury and regularly attending physio
