This job is absolutely horrible. I can't stress enough to not go into this field or job unless you want to deal with a cut throat culture, unethical ways to get sales or clients, and at least a 100+ cold calls a day. Now don't get me wrong, the people you meet in your incoming class was nice, but most people either quit or get fired. This job is all QUOTA. Welcome to the sales world of AT&T! A big corporate company who doesn't care about you unless you are making them money. If you do end up graduating the program, you can't even leave for 18 months or you owe them over $10,000! How insane and horrible is that? This job made me hate sales and I know sales isn't supposed to be like this. Certain teams will either secretly give their newcomers their sales, so their team looks top tier. So if you like cold calling, being sneaky when it comes to ethics and sales, and know lots of people who are looking for fiber internet, this is the job for you!

-Overall and outside of sales, this is a huge company that values diversity & inclusion, and has lots of career opportunity -You'll build great relationships with your peers so it broadens your network -Exposure to the headquarters and senior leadership -Housing is inexpensive and food is covered -Compensation checks are great

I DO NOT recommend this program. I would be doing a disservice by not being honest to my younger professionals hungry for a successful career in sales . It does NOT set you up for success going into the field. Sketchy tactics are encouraged by managers to get to your quota. You can grind our 60+ calls a day and not reap the benefits to hit your goal, while others can luck themselves into sales. That happens, but what is wrong, is that management gives you the ultimatum of firing you, or making you quit after 2 unsuccessful months. This is a TRAINING PROGRAM for a reason! This type of sales is 50% luck and 50% pumping out massive activity daily. In your third month of the program, they will introduce an inbound call system called DSA which will help some people hit quota and graduate, while others will be unlucky and get nothing. Also, please do not believe any recruiter that tells you your performance will play a part in getting you the location you want. Location options are strictly based on current company needs and 75% of graduates will either settle or be disappointed. Lastly, if you do make it out, they will pressure you to accept the new role and sign the agreement within 24 hours or threaten to revoke it. Terrible practice of ethics. They promise things will be different in the field but they aren't, they're actually more difficult. The retention rate of this program is awful for a reason, and majority of those who do graduate do so through inbound calls. Think long and hard before accepting this job, and ESPECIALLY before accepting a respective role if you graduate. If you leave within 18 months after graduating and accepting a role, you will owe back $13,000, which is why most people withstand their misery after graduating. There are plenty of company programs that will prepare you for a successful career in sales, this one just isn't it. And please glassdoor, don't let AT&T delete this review the way I've seen others "magically disappear".

Pros

The old guard of AT&T is too big to fail. It's a job. Those who don't make waves will succeed under AT&T. Outlive, outlast and move up.

Cons

Hard to imagine a long term career here if you care about delivering a quality product. DIRECTV really cared about customer service. The first thing AT&T did was lower service level targets to save money. Then, they pulled back empowerment from agents and management teams. OTT will win as Stankey is asleep at the wheel.
