Pros

AbbVie has some long term employees that make this place a friendly work environment, most people are very helpful.

Cons

Senior management does not care about the growth of non-PhDs, you’ll be working hard in the lab or driving the entire project. A new out of school PhD can join in the group with no previous management experience and you’ll suddenly be expected to follow orders and report to them. No matter how many years of experience you have. It is very hard to grow. Very bad morale within the non-PhDs in oncology discovery group because of this issue.

Pros

AbbVie has great benefits, good compensation and world class resources

Cons

If you are in the wrong department like DevSci or Discovery, you will be ruled with iron incompetent fist. The only ideas to be heard are those of VPs who are out of touch and speak theory rather than practice. HR is there to enable poor leaders and could care less about the greater good. Very toxic.
